Edinboro University prides itself on providing top-quality accessibility for individuals with disabilities and educating the campus community on the importance of accessibility and universal design in facility and curriculum planning wherever possible. The concept of universal design in higher education shifts the focus from developing special strategies or accommodations for a few, to good design for many. This may be applied to physical or instructional design.
Our picturesque 585-acre campus boasts facilities that are accessible to our community members and guests. While the standards set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act set a minimum threshold for designing buildings, Edinboro University has expanded universal design of the physical environment in most of its recent renovation and construction projects.
