Are you passionate about helping students succeed? Are you ready to learn strategies for teaching non-English-language-speaking students? Now's the time to enroll in PennWest Edinboro's online ESL certification program.
The fastest-growing student population in the United States is students who are learning English as an additional language, yet less than 1% of public school teachers are ESL certified. meaning there is a high demand for teachers with these skills.
Edinboro has been helping educators meet the changing needs of students since its founding in 1857.
Our graduate ESL certification program is designed to meet the needs of today's multicultural school environment.
It provides you with the expertise needed to meet the various academic needs of the English-language-learning population. You'll learn about language acquisition, intercultural communication, assessment and language teaching methodologies.
Coursework will lead to a PA ESL Program Specialist Certificate alone or in conjunction
with a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership.
We understand it's important for you to continue working while you pursue courses to advance your career, so we offer this ESL certification entirely online.
Fifteen credit hours and an ESL field experience are required. However, you may complete your field experience in your own classroom, building or district.
You can complete the program in as few as two or three semesters.
