If you’re passionate about being a voice for the vulnerable, become a licensed social worker. Edinboro University offers both a hybrid on-campus program and our nationally recognized online Master of Social Work program.
Edinboro’s MSW degree was recently ranked among the top 10 online programs in the
country by SR Education Group. This award is based entirely on feedback from students
and graduates.
We built our nationally recognized program around professional best practices to help prepare you for a career in social work. Our curriculum focuses on trauma-informed family practice and is taught by dedicated faculty with extensive field experience. They will serve as your mentors, guiding you through the many areas of social work.
You’ll gain extensive hands-on experience through internships designed to lead to full-time employment and help you prepare for state licensure exams. Our list of internship sites is extensive. During the past five years, Edinboro MSW students have completed internships in 39 states, plus Canada, South Korea and St. Lucia, as part of their degree program.
You don’t need a BSW to enroll. If you’ve earned a bachelor’s degree in another field, you can still earn your MSW at Edinboro in only two years.
Edinboro’s program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. It’s available to students from all 50 states, as well as international students and those in military settings.

Earn your MSW completely online, on your own time, with no campus visits required.
Because we are an approved SARA institution, Edinboro may admit online graduate students
from all 50 states.
