School of Education
Dr. Erinn D. Lake, Dean of the School of Education and Executive Director of the School of Graduate Studies, brings more than 30 years of experience in higher education administration, working tirelessly to assist students in both graduate and undergraduate degree programs.
If you are determined to make a difference in the lives of others as an educator, you’ve come to the right place. Educating teachers is our passion—and our legacy. Since its founding in 1857 as a Teaching Academy, Edinboro University has continually expanded its programs and advanced best practices to become one of the premier teacher education institutions in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
We not only educate teachers, we value them. Our exceptional faculty know what it’s like to be in the classroom. They are award-winning teachers and administrators themselves, and earn recognition for their leadership roles, both in their schools and in the community. Edinboro was also the first in the state to earn CAEP accreditation for both our initial and advanced programs.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, teachers are in high demand. Year after year, teachers with Edinboro University degrees are highly sought after, even before graduation. Whether you’re seeking your initial teaching certification, an advanced degree, or credits towards professional development, Edinboro will get you there, and help you get the job you want after graduation.
We can’t wait to help you advance your career in the field of education.
