Academic Accessibility Services

Edinboro University and the Office for Accessibility Services (OAS) offer an accessible campus for our students and are committed to educating the campus about the importance of accessibility.

Providing Assistance for Students

Confidence and independent functioning of all students is what Edinboro's Office for Accessibility Services (OAS) exists to promote while educating and increasing understanding of students with disabilities in the college community.

Our Services Include:

If you require an accommodation, you must request services directly from the OAS. All accommodation requests must be consistent with documented needs of the student requesting such accommodations. Requests for accommodation may not be honored without documentation of a disability as defined by the parameters of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and any subsequent amendments.

45 Years of Excellence

EU celebrates more than 45 years of commitment to serve students with disabilities. Let our track record of outstanding success in supporting students with disabilities be put to work for you or your student.

Educating the Campus and Community

We pride ourselves on providing accessibility for individuals with disabilities and educating the campus community on the importance of accessibility and universal design in facility and curriculum planning wherever possible.

The concept of universal design in higher education strives to shift the focus from developing special strategies or accommodations for a few to good design for many. This may be applied to physical or instructional design.

Our picturesque 585-acre campus boasts facilities that are accessible to our community members and guests. While the standards set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act set a minimum threshold for designing buildings, we strive to expand universal design of the physical environment in all of its recent renovation and construction projects. We'll help you unleash your potential.
