Health Services


The Health Center provides students with high-quality medical care and health education. We offer a variety of services including a self-care room, lab services, physicals and immunizations.

Making an Appointment

The Health Services staff believe the foundation of good medical care is the relationship between the medical provider and the patient. To provide the time and attention that each student deserves, it is recommended that you make an appointment. Appointments are made by calling 814-732-2743 during office hours.

A $15 no-show fee will be charged to your account if you do not cancel or reschedule prior to your appointment time.


Confidentiality of all services provided at Health Services is strictly maintained. Therefore, the Health Center cannot release any information to anyone without the expressed written consent of the person to whom the information belongs. This regulation includes the distribution of information to parents, guardians, siblings, spouses, friends, etc.

All Health Center personnel complete confidentiality training. This policy ensures the protection of all confidential information.

Please complete, sign and have witnessed the authorization for release of protected health information to acquire a copy of medical record information.

In Case of Emergency

If Health Services is closed and you need immediate assistance, contact the Campus Police at 814-732-2911 or call 911 for emergency services.

Allergy Injections

An outside physician must order the allergy injections.

In order to proceed, the following steps must be met:

  1. Obtain a copy of the allergy packet from the Health Center.
  2. Read the documents: You must sign and return the compliance agreement, fill out and give the allergist the letter addressing the Health Services guideline for administering allergy injections, and have your physician sign the permissions to administer the allergy injection by the RN at Health Services. Return it to us by fax at 814-732-2666, in person or by mail.
  3. Make an appointment: You can make an appointment by calling 814-732-2743.

Following the appointment, you must plan to stay at the Health Center for an additional 20-30 minutes. The injection site must be checked by a nurse before your departure.

You must bring the current dated antigen, which has been prescribed by your allergist, to Health Services where it will be stored under appropriate conditions.

In addition, you must provide the written instructions from your allergist that include the dosage and time intervals of injections, as well as instructions for late or delayed injections. The Health Center will not administer first-time injections.

Laboratory Services

The services above are performed at the Health Center.

Laboratory Specimens

The specimens are collected at the Health Center and sent out to the appropriate laboratory.

Medical Excuses

The Health Center will provide verification of your appointment date and time upon request. Class excuses are given only in situations where the provider finds it necessary.


If you need a physical, please bring your physical form to your scheduled appointment. The fee for a physical is $25 and will be charged to your account at the Bursar's Office.

Physicals are available for:

Self-Care Room

Students will receive three tokens per day to use in the self-care room at no cost. Items available are:

Tuberculosis Testing

Tuberculosis (TB) is a bacterial infection caused by a germ called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacteria usually attack the lungs but can also damage other parts of the body. TB spreads through the air when a person with TB of the lungs or throat coughs, sneezes or talks. TB is usually curable by taking several medications for an extended period.

TB tests cost $15.
