Safety Programs and Services

The PennWest Edinboro Police Department promotes safety, security and a positive community environment for everyone at the University. As a fully commissioned police force, it works collaboratively with other law enforcement and public safety agencies as needed. Our officers maintain high visibility while performing their duties and maintain active involvement in student life by providing safety and prevention programs. Police patrols and programs complement the efforts of various Student Affairs resources to ensure that a safe and secure learning environment is maintained at all times.

This page provides details on University policies and programs required by the College and University Security Information Act and the Crime Awareness and/Campus Security Act. Crime statistics for the previous three years are distributed to all students and employees each year, as well as to all prospective students and employees. Our daily crime log is accessible and open to public inspection upon request during regular business hours.

This information will assure you that the Edinboro experience - in the classroom, residence hall and throughout the campus - will continue to be one that provides a sense of personal safety and one that is rich academically, culturally and socially.
