Apply to be an Edinboro Noyce Teacher Scholar (ENTS) by completing these steps:
Read through all therequirementsof an ENTS scholarship or stipend.
Ask two professionals (professors or employers) to send a letter of recommendation
toENTS@pennwest.edu. The letter should address your potential as teacher in a high-need school setting.
Complete the application below and be sure to attach the following:
A copy of your transcript (unofficial is acceptable). If you have more than one transcript,
please scan and attach them as one document.
An essay following the points below.
Essay
Please address the following points in your essay. Remember to include your name
in the heading for each page and number the pages in the footer. There are no right
or wrong answers, but please submit a well-written essay that is between 500 and 1000
words.
Describe the high school setting that you attended (size, location, rural/urban/suburban)
and share your overall experience at that school.
Describe how working in a high-need school district is unlike your high school experience.
For example, if you went to a rural high school, what do you think teaching in an
urban school would be like?
Share what drew you to your current STEM field.
Share what interested you in becoming a STEM teacher.
What professional goals do you hope to accomplish as part of this program.
